Bristol Southsound Radio raises almost £1900 for Teenage Cancer Trust
Bristol’s commercial internet radio station Southsound Radio has raised almost £1900 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
For the past few months the station’s presenters have been taking part in a variety of fundraising events to raise money for the charity which helps teenagers and young adults with cancer in Bristol and across the South West.
Three of the presenters, Josh Ellis, Gary Hopkins and Roger Noble hosted a 52 hour marathon show over the August Bank Holiday weekend. They were joined by a plethora of special guests including Bristolian comedian and actor Stephen Merchant; North West Bristol MP Charlotte Leslie; upcoming local singer Ryan Curtis and funny man Harry Kazzam. Other Southsound presenters also made guest appearances on the show and around Bristol collecting money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Southsound ran an auction alongside the marathon broadcast with prizes donated by The Bristol Hippodrome, Rolls Royce, David Lloyd Westbury, Plusnet, Asda Patchway and many others.
